Ravenlok Is Out Now, a Fantasy Adventure With Voxel Graphics

Journey to a fairy tale world to fulfill a prophecy in Ravenlok.
Ravenlok is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC through Windows 10 and the Epic Games Store for $24.99. The game launched on Thursday and is also available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers on consoles and PC.
Ravenlok a single-player, action adventure game from the independent Toronto-based studio Cococucumber. The main character is Kira, a girl who stumbles through a magical mirror after finding it hidden away in a barn, landing into a fantasy world on the other side. In this new world Kira becomes the hero Ravenlok, a chosen one known in prophecy. She must rescue the people living in the Realm of Dunia from an evil leader called the Caterpillar Queen.
The game is set in a fairy tale universe with Alice in Wonderland vibes where players will encounter creative creatures, monsters and lands, all designed in 3D voxel graphics. Ravenlok is described as a reimagining of classic coming-of-age stories.
Ravenlok features hack-and-slash gameplay with a sword and shield. Players can also use magic and items like bombs in combat. There are boss fights to encounter. The character can be leveled up to gain power and new skills. Players will explore areas in the story like the Mushroom Forest, Mask Mansion, Greenhouse, Labyrinth and others. There’s also puzzles to solve and quests to take on.
The game is the final release in the developer’s “Voxel Trilogy,” which includes the studio’s previous games Riverbond (2019) and Echo Generation (2021). While the games feature different stories, all three share a voxel visual style similar to Minecraft but with 3D environments.
Ravenlok is also optimized for Xbox Series X with 4K visuals and 60 frames-per-second.
There are two hat pack add-ons for $2.99 each that both include four items for cosmetic changes on the main character.
The studio first revealed Ravenlok during the Xbox/Bethesda Showcase stream in June 2022. This is Cococucumber’s fifth release. The studio’s other two games include platformer Planet of the Eyes (2015) and the arcade-style Bunny Bonker (2013).
