Check out how the multiplayer looks in the upcoming Doom.
The closed online multiplayer beta for the new Doom started last Thursday night and ran through Sunday night.
The game will release on May 13 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Developed by id Software, this Doom is a reboot of the iconic franchise that will feature a campaign and multiplayer.
The beta featured two modes, team deathmatch and warpath, which is a king of the hill-style, territory capture game. Both modes were playable across three different maps with six versus six players.
The multiplayer features two-weapon loadouts instead of picking up guns on the map. Some of the weapons include a shotgun, rocket launcher, lightning gun, various rifles and a teleporting grenade.
The multiplayer also includes hack modules, which are one-time use cards that give temporary skills and bonuses.
The player’s character can be customized with different armor styles and colors. You can also customize how each weapon looks.
Access codes were given way back in 2014 for pre-ordering Wolfenstein: The New Order. Codes were also given out recently at GameStop for pre-ordering Doom. This is the game’s second multiplayer testing, with an alpha done in October 2015.
