Dead Kings, the first downloadable content expansion for Assassin’s Creed: Unity, will release Jan. 13 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC as a free download, Ubisoft announced Tuesday.

All Assassin’s Creed: Unity owners will be able to download Dead Kings for free starting next week. The DLC is set after the events of Unity in the city of Saint-Denis exploring the tombs of French royalty. It features single-player and co-op missions playing as Arno Dorian, Unity’s main character.

The Guillotine Gun is a new explosive weapon featured in Dead Kings. New contracts and Murder Mysteries are also added to the DLC. Unlocked weapons and gear in Dead Kings can be transferred to Unity’s main game.

The Dead Kings expansion is developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, the studio behind ZombiU (2012), Rayman Legends (2013) and Valiant Hearts: The Great War (2014).

Ubisoft announced in November that Dead Kings would be released for free as compensation for the game’s broken launch that was filled with numerous bugs and glitches. Dead Kings was originally part of Unity’s $29.99 Season Pass for downloadable content, but Ubisoft canceled future sales of the pass and planned to give the expansion to all Unity players. Season Pass owners will get their choice of a free Ubisoft game through March 15 in addition to the all the planned content.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity has received several patches since its Nov. 11 release with major updates aimed at removing the game’s various bugs and improving gameplay quality.
