Forza Motorsport 4 $30 Season Pass Includes Six Add-Ons for 60 Cars
A downloadable content bundle is racing into Forza Motorsport 4 on the Xbox 360.
Turn 10 Studios, the game’s developer, announced today that the Xbox 360 exclusive would offer a discount on its downloadable add-ons called the “Season Pass.” The Season Pass will cost 2,400 Microsoft Points, or $30. It includes six downloadable content releases over six months, beginning in November.
The Season Pass will give players 60 new cars through April, adding to the game’s already extensive roster. The exact models aren’t known at this time. Forza 4 will release Oct. 11 in North America exclusively for the Xbox 360. The pass will be available to buy on release day. The Season Pass can be purchased on the Xbox Live Marketplace or at retailers like GameStop and Best Buy.
Forza 4 is the second Xbox 360 exclusive to offer players a Season Pass for its extra downloadable releases. Gears of War 3, which released Tuesday, has its own Season Pass, although the contents haven’t been revealed yet. Microsoft Studios is the publisher for both games. Other titles released this year like Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.’s Mortal Kombat and Rockstar Games’ L.A. Noire also use a similar pass for downloadable content.
Players who buy the Season Pass will save 30 percent on all the announced DLC. The add-ons can still be bought without the Season Pass. Downloading the content separately would cost almost $43. The price of each pack wasn’t announced.
With the Season Pass, players are pre-ordering future downloadable content. Those who have the Season Pass can automatically download the add-on to their Xbox 360 when it becomes available. It wasn’t revealed if new race tracks or game modes would be part of Forza 4’s Season Pass.
There’s already day-one DLC planned for the game. Players who buy the Season Pass will get the “American Muscle” add-on for free. The American Muscle pack includes the following 10 cars:
- 1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt
- 1965 Pontiac GTO
- 1966 Chevrolet Nova SS
- 1967 Dodge Cornet W023
- 1968 Pontiac Firebird
- 1968 Dodge Dart HEMI Super Stock
- 1969 Shelby GT500 428CJ
- 1970 Buick GSX
- 1970 Dodge Cornet Super Bee
- 1971 Plymouth GTX 426 Hemi
The muscle cars are also included in all copies of the Limited Edition version, which will retail for $79.99. There wasn’t a price announced for the content if you don’t buy the Season Pass or the Limited Edition.
At launch Forza 4 is rumored to include 500 cars from 80 manufactures.
A Forza 4 demo will be available to download Oct. 3 for Xbox Live Gold subscribers and Oct. 7 for Xbox Live Silver members.
